Electrostatic dissipation for materials


 

Dispersed in a thermoplastic, thermoset or elastomer polymer matrix,  Graphistrength®  helps achieve remarkable electrostatic dissipation (ESD) properties at very low concentration rates compared to the fillers and additives traditionally used.


This low concentration of Graphistrength® multiwall carbon nanotubes in the polymers significantly reduces any risk of impairing the mechanical properties, and in some cases can even improve them.

Examples of applications :

 

  • Automotive

 

Graphistrength® multiwall carbon nanotubes can be used to impart ESD properties to materials in contact with fuel : rubber gaskets, fuel lines and thermoplastic tanks.

Some car body parts can be usefully enhanced by the addition of Graphistrength®  multiwall carbon nanotubes which bring sufficient ESD properties to allow the application of paint by electrostatic deposition.

Graphistrength®  carbon nanotubes also help achieve a very smooth and glossy surface finish.

  • Electronics

 

Thanks to their ESD properties, Graphistrength® multiwall carbon nanotubes are added into thermoplastic materials used to manufacture electronic components. Equally, they can be used in the casing of electronic equipment such as computers and cell phones.
