Arkema is using on a pilot scale the agricultural ethanol as a source of carbon for the production of its  Graphistrength® multiwall carbon nanotubes. In the industrial pilot from 2011, powders will be produced from this raw material of renewable origin.

Arkema  is also developing a specific thermoplastic masterbatch grade, Graphistrength® C M3-20   in which the multiwall carbon nanotubes are perfectly dispersed within a Rilsan® polyamide 11 matrix produced from castor oil, a raw material of vegetable origin.

The Graphistrength®  C M3-20   masterbatch will therefore be derived exclusively from renewable raw materials.
